And 2013 is no exception. ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã Fall has always been a hot season for new ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã placements. And 2013 does not disappoint. There are many exciting new appointments to announce from industries ranging from financial services, to real estate to high tech to pharmaceuticals. VMWare, a virtualization and cloud infrastructure company, appointed Tony Scott as SVP and ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã reporting to Pat Gelsinger, VMware’s CEO. The 30 year global IT veteran most recently served as VP and ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã of Microsoft Corporation for 5 years. Prior, Scott served as SVP and ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã of The Walt Disney Company and CTO at General Motors Corporation. Former Bank of America (BofA) executive Stephen Crowley joined Wex Inc., a corporate payment service provider, as ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã. Most recently, he served BofA as SVP, Mortgage and Affiliate Services Strategy and Execution and before that SVP, ePayments Delivery Executive. Crowley replaces George Hogan, who has transitioned to SVP and GM of Wex’s Fleet One unit. Merck Group announced that James Stewart will become ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã as of October 1. Stewart succeeds Frédéric Wohlwend, who recently left the company to pursue other opportunties. Stewart began his career at Merck in HR in 1984 and subsequently took on positions of increasingly responsibility in various functions of the business that focused on the development and implementation of organization transformation, business process improvement and operations excellence programs. Most recently, Stewart served as VP, Strategy Realization Office for Merck’s Prescription Medicines’ division. joined CBRE Group, Inc. as Global ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã reporting to Chris Kirk, Chief Administration Officer. The 25 year veteran previously held the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã role for several leading global companies including, most recently, a global business process outsourcing company. Earlier, she served as ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã of GE’s Global eXchange Services Division. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance appointed James Roser as their new ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã. Most recently, Roser served as Head of IT for the Global Insurance, Global Reinsurance and Associated Infrastructure division of Markel, Inc. Prior to that, he was VP at Alterra Capital. Dean Del Vecchio joined Guardian Life Insurance as SVP and ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã last week. Del Vecchio most recently was the ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã and Global Head of IT Shared Services at News Corp and ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã for Dow Jones, where he had responsibility for leading all application development and technology infrastructure. Prior to Dow, Del Vecchio held progressively responsible senior business technology leadership roles at Cigna and Citibank and started his career at Merrill Lynch. Genworth Financial, Inc. announced George Reichert as ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã of the company’s U.S. Mortgage Insurance unit. Reichert most recently was ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã at Nortel Networks in Research Triangle Park, NC, where he leveraged his expertise to create and lead the vision for Nortel’s IT restructuring plan. He also led IT teams at Lenovo and DHL. was named ÍæÅ¼½ã½ã for Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc., a developer of lifestyle-oriented content for television and the Internet. Baskerville, who previously held the COO role for Scripps, will succeed Ron Johnson, who will retire at the end of this year. Baskerville will report to Mark Hale, EVP and CTO.
